Explorers Club

In 2019 the BCT Explorer’s Club is offering trips to a variety of popular venues for individuals or groups by minibus at a reasonable cost.

Shopping trips to local supermarkets or factory outlets could also be arranged if there is sufficient demand.

We do not compete on price with minicabs or taxis as that is not part of the remit of Community Transport. We provide added value by joint trips – like those listed below – giving people who may feel isolated and lonely the opportunity to participate and to socialise with others. Helping the Members of our Not For Profit Charity overcome the  mobility challenges that often deter or prevent them from participating in regular enjoyable activities is a prime motivation in supporting the frail, vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community.

Depending on demand, outings on offer include:

Places of Interest:
Kew Gardens, St Albans Abbey, London Eye/Aquarium, Rivers Wey and Thames, Paradise Wildlife Park Broxbourne.

Lunches/Afternoon Teas:
Grimms Dyke Hotel, Blue Check Restaurant, Laura Ashley Hotel Elstree, Toby Carvery (various locations), Shuttleworth Manor House Biggleswade.

Museums, Stately Homes and Gardens:
RAF Museum, Woburn Abbey and Gardens, Chiltern Open Air Museum, Duxford Museum, Knebworth, Hatfield House and Gardens, Wisley RHS Gardens.
